Come into the Gallery this month to see the artwork of the
scholarship recipients and the high school visual arts award.
The Master of Fine Arts scholarship is available to a fine arts
graduate student in residence at a university in Washington,
Oregon, or Idaho. This year’s winner is Joshua Jalbert, a
student at the University of Oregon. Joshua’s art blends his
unique use of photography and time with nature to create
stunning pieces of art.
Incoming art student, Lisa Singleton, and a
continuing art student, Brittany Watkins, have been selected by
CBC to receive tuition scholarships donated by
Allied Arts for the 2007-2008 academic year. Lisa is from
Southridge and leans
toward painting, while Brittany shows great promise in two
dimensional art. MacKenzie Williams is the high school award
winner and is a student at Kamiakin High School.
All of these wonderful students will have
selected works on display in the Parkside Gallery this month. Be
sure to visit the Gallery or come to the reception on May 6th to
see what these young artists and students have been busy
creating!
